A new year brings new goals. When it comes to health and fitness, setting small goals can often be most effective. Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center Registered Dietitian Brittany Schicho says making extreme changes can lead to quick burnout.

Schicho suggests setting a specific goal and starting small. For example, if your goal is to add in more exercise, start with adding one day of physical activity a week and build from there over time.
