CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The City of Crestview is on the hunt for a new Police Chief.

The public is invited to an August 5 meet-and-greet at which the two finalists for the Chief position will be introduced and answer residents’ questions.

The April retirement of Police Chief Jamie Grant initiated the process to select a new chief. Under the city’s new charter, both Public Safety departments, police and fire, now report to the City Manager rather than the Mayor.

City Manager Tim Bolduc said both law enforcement officers have extensive experience and excellent qualifications. He praised the police chief search committee, comprised of local and regional civic and law enforcement leaders, for their diligence in analyzing applicants who responded from throughout the country as well as from within the Police Department.

City officials, including Mr. Bolduc, Mayor J.B. Whitten, and Police Department command staff will also be on hand for the meet-and-greet, which is 6 p.m. August 5 at Warriors Hall in the Whitehurst Municipal Building, 201 Stillwell Blvd.
