With a new hurricane season already underway, some may not be mentally prepared for another storm. That's why Monday at the Bay County Public Library Beverly Brown hosted a "Weather the Storm" event.

The workshop aimed to help locals reduce and cope with anxiety this hurricane season in the wake of Hurricane Michael.

She went over different strategies including breathing and mental exercises to keep people calm.

Brown said, "So, learning how to respond to the mind when it's telling you there's something to be done and to calm it down is the key to dealing with anxiety."

Brown says more mental health workshops are planned for the future.
