MEXICO BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Mexico Beach officials say Salt Creek Bridge is set to open soon.

Mayor Al Cathey said after many months of repairs the bridge will be open by the 23rd. Cathey says now that they’ve fixed the bridge they can move forward with the next phase of the plan to fix all the damage left in the marina.

"There's a lot of devastation on the west side of that bridge that we haven't even addressed because the bridge has been out. It's out for bid to do all the electrical and the bulkheads,” Mayor Cathey said.

Cathey said the city plans to start making repairs to the marina by the end of the month.
