Good Monday morning everyone!
It's a quiet start on radar with mainly clear skies this morning. A little patchy fog is possible, but not likely to be widespread this morning. Otherwise, it's a mild and muggy morning with most waking up in the upper 60s or low 70s. Sunshine will go to work on temperatures quickly this morning and any patchy fog that does develop will lift out within the first hour after sunrise.
We won't have too much other concern in the forecast today other than more heat! Highs today will push the low 90s inland to mid 80s on the coast. With humidity running high, we can also add a few degrees to the hot feel outside with a heat index approaching the mid 90s inland this afternoon. The heat and humidity plus lift from the sea breeze front this afternoon may develop a stray inland shower or thunderstorm to try and cool off a few neighborhoods.
High pressure is in place and ridging aloft will continue to build as the week unfolds. That will lead toward quieter skies after a stray shower may still develop Tuesday afternoon away from the coast, and a lot of sunshine ahead for the rest of this week.
As the ridge of high pressure aloft builds in, we'll also see more heat. Highs will push the mid 90s inland by late week to upper 80s on the coast as the Gulf waters are warmer now near 80° and onshore winds will not have as much of a cooling influence.
For today, mostly sunny skies with hot temperatures inland in the low 90s to mid 80s on the coast. Your 7 Day Forecast has more sunshine ahead for this week with highs warming up as even the coast will push upper 80s to near 90 by the end of the week.
