CALLAWAY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Back in May of 2019, the St. Joe Company looked to rezone 165 acres off of Highway 22 in Callaway near Betty Louise Drive to possibly provide more housing.

The plan was to drop the minimum square footage of a lot from 10,000 square feet to 6,000 square feet.

Callaway officials say the St. Joe Company is working on the infrastructure and clearing the land before any other construction begins.

The company said in May, the initial plans called for around 300 home sites.
