DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A man who police found with small cuts to his body from an apparent knife attack is accused of sexually assaulting a teenager.
DeFuniak Springs Police say when they arrived on scene, John Jones, 43, had cuts on his body apparently made by a knife. They say after speaking to everyone at the scene, it appears a mother attacked Jones after finding him sexually assaulting her child.
The mother told police she went into her child's room and found Jones on top of her teen. She told police she grabbed a knife and started stabbing Jones to make him stop.
Police interviewed the victim and the victim was taken to the Children's Advocacy Center for evaluation.
Jones was arrested on a charge of sexual battery to a child greater than 12 years of age without causing bodily harm. His bond is set for $100,000.
The mother of the victim was not charged.
