BAY COUNTY, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - Students and faculty at Mowat Middle School in Lynn Haven were welcomed back to school with free pancakes.
Volunteers have been serving pancakes in Bay County for about four years. Mowat's administration reached out to get the group to serve pancakes and lemonade for the kid's first day back since Hurricane Michael. The volunteers say they hope the pancakes will put a smile on the students faces.
"Hope that's it, we just want to share hope with the kids here at Mowat as well as just kids all across our community and like I said we will do it with one pancake and a lot of syrup at a time," Volunteer Skip Bondur said.
The remainder of Bay District Schools will start back up next week.
