Nesting Place retreat offers support for parents of foster and adopted children
Lynn Haven United Methodist Church hosted a retreat for foster and adoptive parents Saturday.
At Nesting Place, parents had the chance to speak with others in their community about some of the challenges foster and adoptive parents face.
Nesting Place founder, Katie Fanning, said she was inspired to start this program in Panama City after she adopted her son from China.
"What we found is that foster parents stay longer because of coming to things like this, because they have that support, and the hope that something like this provides, they know that they're not alone in this,” said Fanning.
