New property code enforcement deadline

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - As part of clean up efforts, Bay County is allowing its citizens until October 1 to improve their properties in alignment with Code Enforcement, which has been assessing properties throughout the county.

Those who have not made any effort to improve their property will be subject to appear before the Code Enforcement Board. But if you have been working with insurance companies and actively trying to improve your property, then you don't need to worry.

"For those who are not making any effort, they're just, either they left the county for one reason and they have not made any effort to clean up then those are the ones we're gonna put a little more pressure on to try to encourage them to clean it up by taking them to the Code Enforcement Board if necessary," said Commissioner Bill Dozier.

Dozier says this will help the county in moving forward with cleanup.
