Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport nearly deserted
Usually in April, travelers would be flocking to area beaches; however, due to COVID-19 pandemic, travel is at an all time low. The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is close to deserted as people stay home during this otherwise busy travel season.
"Just like the rest of the country and around the world, air traffic is down. We've had a pretty significant downturn in our community. There are a lot fewer cars on the road. We see that as well," said Parker McClellan, the Executive Director of Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.
McClellan says that despite the low number of travelers, the airport is still taking extra precautions to keep those who are traveling safe and healthy.
