Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport reports new growth, provides status of projects
Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport has reported major growth over the last 10 years.
Since the old airport ceased operations in 2009, ECP saw an increase of nearly one million passengers last year compared to 2009. With all the growth, the airport is in the middle of a number of projects and is looking at others to pursue in the future.
"We have almost finished repairing (the covered parking area)," said ECP Executive Director Parker McClellan. "We have the covered walkway to do and we hope that'll be finished based on the weather in the next five to seven days."
The airport is exploring other projects as well, including paving its overflow lot.
