NORTHWEST FLORIDA, (WJHG/WECP) - When it comes to child abduction response, Northwest Florida's team is among the best.

According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office, less than 10 percent of child abduction response teams are certified by the Justice Department, and now our local C.A.R.T. can say they are one!

Thursday, the Justice Department presented the team with their official certificate to hang on the wall.

In February, the Northwest Florida C.A.R.T. held a mock abduction exercise. Checking off all 47 stipulations for the certification, the Justice Department will use the local team's exercise to train others across the nation.
