CHIPLEY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Many are staying at home to help avoid spreading the coronavirus in our area, but several still have other medical needs. That's why Northwest Florida Community Hospital unveiled a new app that allows patients to visit the doctor from their home.

The new telemedicine platform allows people to get prescriptions for medicine and do routine check-ups all from their home.
Northwest Florida Community Hospital Family Physician Leisa Bailey said they unveiled the app Monday, and many have already started using it. She said the app helps them preserve personal medical equipment like mask and keep people safe from the outbreak.
“It works in with that because you’re not bringing people into the office for a routine checkups like a routine diabetes follow up or a routine blood pressure check. They can stay at home and keep from spreading the virus,” said Bailey.
Bailey said they also work over the phone with people who aren’t able to download our use the app to make sure their medical needs are met.
