OCSO: Teen caught in act of armed burglary arrested

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Concerned citizens calling law enforcement helped arrest a man believed to be an armed burglar.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Tyler Touchstone, 18, of Fort Walton Beach, on multiple felony charges, including armed burglary.

Deputies say someone reported a suspicious person wearing a gray and red hoodie and carrying a flashlight and gas can on Lost Horse Circle around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. They say they began canvassing the area. Deputies say a passing motorist told them where the suspicious person was exactly.

Deputies pulled up to find Touchstone partially inside a silver car. They say he had a pistol in his pocket, a flashlight, a multi tool with what appeared to be a glass punch, and a bandanna around his neck in a way that could cover his face.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office wants to thank the people who reported Touchstone. They say you should always report a suspicious person and never attempt to approach them.
