The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office handled more than 2600 calls on Memorial Day weekend.

Deputies say large crowds packed local beaches, roads, and waters for Memorial Day Weekend 2020.

Deputies say over the holiday weekend there were 30 alcohol offenses

eight boating complaints, 74 disturbances, and three lewd/indecent exposure.

There were 11 distressed boaters, 13 distressed swimmers, and two boat crashes.

According to officials, eight shots were fired. There were 26 parking complaints, and 40 noise and loud music complaints. Officers received 50 reckless driver calls. Officers made 36 vessel stops, received 23 trespassing calls, 26 thefts calls, and 21 calls about suspicious vehicles.

Over Memorial Day, there were 41 welfare checks, 58 traffic crashes, 23 ordinance violations, and 156 citizen contacts.
