OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Okaloosa County Commissioners took action to close all Gulf front beaches within their jurisdiction in the commission meeting Tuesday.

The exception is for individuals with a Commercial Saltwater Products License with a Restricted Species endorsement from the State of Florida for Pompano fishing.

The county is also strongly encouraging all private community centers, meeting rooms and other places of gathering to close.

They are also recommending all pharmacies and grocery stores in the county to reserve a two-hour window, preferably at the beginning of the day, for people over 60 years of age.

They are also encouraging the lodging industry to work with visitors in offering refunds and rescheduling trips.
