One dead, two critically injured in interstate crash Wednesday

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - At least one person is dead after a crash in Walton County Wednesday afternoon.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers say the crash happened on I-10 at mile marker 72 in Walton County.

Troopers say a vehicle driven by Joni Pridgen, 38, of Santa Rosa Beach, traveled off the roadway, hitting the mile marker sign, continued on the grass shoulder until it sideswiped a tree.

Troopers say Pridgen was thrown from the vehicle and died from her injuries. Two passengers in the vehicle, Jessica Helm, 30, of DeFuniak Springs, and Seath Helm, 12, of DeFuniak Springs, were critically hurt.
