PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Gulf World and Zoo World have made preparations for their animals as Hurricane Michael moves closer to our area.
Gulf World released a statement saying, "There is a hurricane preparedness plan in place and staff are securing the property and animals on site. They are not being left alone."
Gulf World will be closed Wednesday and a decision about the rest of the week will be made once staff assess the impacts from the hurricane.
Zoo World will be closed until Thursday with a tentative re-opening on Friday depending on the impacts of the storm.
Staff have made sure all animals are inside and secure on-site.
