Mayor Sheldon says the city is ready and prepared to keep residents and visitors safe during the holiday weekend, even with an expected influx of people and activities.
“I anticipate Memorial Day weekend here in Panama City Beach to be busy by all means," said Sheldon during an interview with Newschannel 7's Olivia Michael on Tuesday. "One thing we’ve got to remember though is we want to keep our citizens safe. We don’t want to deplete our shelves of supplies. So if you’re coming in from out of town, please, if you can bring your own supplies, we want to make sure we’re following social distancing guidelines and no groups larger than ten."
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to recommend that Americans stay home as much as possible, practice social distancing and avoid nonessential travel.
