City officials with Panama City Beach have made new signs to keep low-speed vehicles from driving on Back Beach and Middle Beach Roads.

Low speed vehicles, like some golf carts, are not allowed on roads with speed limits over 35 mph.

A portion of Middle Beach Road is increasing to 40 mph, so these vehicles will no longer be allowed.

Officials say they hope that the signs will help inform the public of the law.

"The police were having a problem with the LSVs, especially the rental ones, off Back Beach Road. People weren't aware of the fact they couldn't be back there because of the speed, and I'm sure they were informed but they didn't know where it was," said Panama City Beach Mayor Mike Thomas.

Over the next few weeks, the new signs will be put up on roads leading to Back Beach and Middle Beach Roads.
