Panama City is joining the list of cities closing city facilities to stop the spread of COVID-19.

City leaders announced starting Tuesday, City Hall will be closed to the public through at least April 15th. They say all services will remain available by telephone, email, and on the city's website.

City leaders also say they will not shut off water service because of a missed payment. They say if a local is concerned about his or her water bill, call the Utility Billing Department or email.

All publicly-permitted events, facility reservations, sports and arts programming, informal meetings, and code enforcement hearings have been suspended at least through April 15th.

The boat ramp and fuel dock at the St. Andrews Marina will be open, but the marina store will be closed during this time as well, according to city leaders. The outdoor areas of the Panama City's parks are still open.

Panama City Police are also taking precautions to keep the public safe. Police say the department's lobby will be closed starting Tuesday. The office phone will still be operational. Police say you can file a police report online, but if a crime is underway call 911.
