The Massalina Memorial Homes now has a new name, but they are keeping Massalina in it. The Panama City Housing Authority said the new name is 'The Park At Massalina.'

"On behalf of the family and the citizens here in Panama City, the history is preserved. The legacy of the Massileno family is being preserved at the "Park at Massilina" at well. We're very excited and grateful for the decision,” said Lynva Masslieno who is a descendent of Jose’ and Hawk Masslineo.

Lynva said Massalina is the Anglican spelling of the name Masslieno.

He said the name will preserve the memory of Hawk Masslieno, who helped diversify and improve bay county during the 1800s and early 1900s.
