PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Many locals are still living in R.V.s , travel trailers and other manufactured homes while they're rebuilding from Hurricane Michael.

The Panama City Commission voted Monday to extend the period of exemption for locals to live in these temporary homes. The deadline was moved from October of 2020 to October of 2021.

Officials say storm victims will be exempt from code enforcement ordinances against temporary homes during that time frame.
