Panama City Police officials say after seeing his picture in the news, the suspect voluntarily came to the department and offered to provide a statement.

They say the suspect provided new evidence that shows the victim had made a false report to law enforcement. Now, officials say the victim who originally reported the robbery has a criminal complaint for false reports to law enforcement against himself.

Panama City Police is asking for help from the public to identify a robbery suspect.

Police say on Wednesday, a man captured in a photograph held a victim at gunpoint and stole from them.

Police say the robbery happened at a hotel on W Hwy 98 in Panama City.

According to police, the suspect left in a newer model gray or silver Honda CRV.
