Panama City Target store holds ribbon cutting ceremony after remodel

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Panama City residents are one step closer to making a Target run again.

The Target in Panama City sustained major damage during hurricane Michael but now more than four months after the storm, they're almost ready to reopen.

Tuesday afternoon the store hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and provided a sneak peek at the remodeled store.

The makeup and electronic sections got major overhauls.

Management says they haven't had any problems with staffing either.

Wayne Harris the Store Team Leader said, "We brought 50 percent of our team back with us to the store and we hired 80 new team members in that process. Right now we have 156 team members currently working with us at Target."

Panama City Mayor Greg Brudnicki was also on hand to help cut the ribbon.

Target will officially open to the public Wednesday at 8 a.m. and hold regular business hours.
