Panama City home damaged in fire

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A house fire in Panama City early Sunday morning is under investigation.

Panama City Fire Department officials say they responded to Kirkland Avenue at around 5 a.m.. There was heavy smoke coming from the house.

Officials say they heard about someone being inside the house. after searching, they were able to find the person. The resident was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. Another person was inside at the time of the fire but was able to get out before crews arrived on the scene.

The house sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. The fire is being investigated by the Panama City Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal.
