PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Many in Panama City have cleared debris from Hurricane Michael for months now and they still have more to go.
Panama City and FEMA will launch a private property debris removal program to help out. City Manager Mark McQueen said all properties will require inspection prior to debris removal. McQueen said the program is for people who haven't received help from insurance.
"What we're finding is that most insurance is not covering the removal of trees other than those maybe leaning on a structure, they don't take away all the trees leaning in or out of the property. This is gonna create an opportunity to get around that," said McQueen
McQueen said the city will accept applications starting Monday, February 25th up until May 4th.
