Panama City to build affordable model homes for State Housing Incentives Program
The housing shortage in Bay County has been the focus of community leaders looking for ways to create affordable housing in the shortest amount of time. The Panama City Commission has taken a step to address that very situation
They voted to build four model homes that can be built in a very short time and can withstand extremely high wind speeds, while code compliant. The purpose of the model homes is to provide homes for less than $175,000 to qualified buyers making between $35,000 and $50,000 a year.
One home will be a 3D printed concrete home and the others will be of modular construction. Construction of the homes will take about 30 to 60 days to complete.
The model homes will be built in the area of 15th Street and Roosevelt Drive. This will allow potential buyers to view the homes before they buy.
