Panama City's new city hall is officially open for business

PANAMA CITY, Fla (WJHG/WECP) - The new Panama City City Hall located on Harrison Avenue opened its doors at 10 a.m. Monday.

City employees moved from their temporary location at the A.D. Harris Learning Center starting on Friday. It will serve as a one-stop shop where residents can pay utility bills, see code enforcement, attend bid openings, and rent a park, among many other things.

"Well, construction has been going on since December of 2016, we purchased the building roughly two year before that, so it's been a very long time coming, and we are bringing 100 [people] into this building plus some other consultant firms that are helping us with the recovery effort," Panama City Assistant City Manager, Jared Jones said.

Regular hours for the city hall will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
