Parker city officials looking to rebuild the La Brisa Inn
Parker city officials are working on plans to rebuild the city's largest hotel.
Mayor Richard Musgrave said about 30% of the La Brisa Inn was damaged by Hurricane Michael and they're working out a plan with a company in Houston to buy and rebuild the inn. The company was supposed give a proposal to the city during Tuesday's council meeting but postponed to adjust its plans.
"They had indicated up to the potential cost in bringing everything up to current building codes. They wanted to reevaluate and see if it made financial sense for them to purchase the property and renovate it to current building codes,” said Musgrave.
Musgrave said the La Brisa Inn was built around 30 years ago and it's been a 12-year process trying to get it renovated. He said the inn faced many challenges including being a hot spot for illegal activity such as drug abuse and prostitution, but they're hoping they can turn it around.
