PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla.(WJHG/WECP) - Throughout the last several years, airline travel at Northwest Florida International Airport has shown a constant pattern of growth. Last month was no exception.
Airline travel in the month of September showed a 13 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The number of passengers using the airport this year is up a total of 17 percent.
According to the airport's Executive Director Parker McClellan, the increase is an indication of the resilience of the local economy despite the effects of Hurricane Michael.
