Pedestrian dead after crash in Walton County

The Warren County Sheriff's Department is looking for a driver who they say intentionally hit a pedestrian near rural Monmouth on Wednesday. (MGN)

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG) - A pedestrian is dead after a crash in Walton County Sunday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Brian Herbert, 44, of Niceville was traveling west on State Road 20 near County Road 883 at about 9:07 p.m. when Matthew Patten, 36, of Freeport walked into the westbound lane. Herbert struck Patten, and Patten died from the accident.

Florida Highway Patrol Troopers were assisted on scene by the Walton
County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Medical Services.

This crash is still currently under investigation.
