Pedestrian dead, man charged after fatal hit and run in Okaloosa County

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG) - A pedestrian is dead and a man is facing multiple charges after a fatal hit and run crash Tuesday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, William Boles, 48, was traveling east on U.S. Highway 90 near Hare Street in Okaloosa County when he failed to see Wilber Heath, 71, crossing the roadway. They say Boles hit Heath then continued driving. Heath sustained fatal injuries.

Witnesses contacted authorities with a description and Boles was later located. He is charged with leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and failure to register a vehicle.
