PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam is in full swing and residents and visitors are ready for more country music
While the weather has held up for the most part, Mother Nature still tried to slow down the show.
Friday the venue was evacuated for around 40 minutes due to inclement weather and lightning.
Event organizers say the evacuation was necessary in order to make sure all the fans stayed safe.
Craig Campbell, the publicist for the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, said, "This is all about safety first. This is all about the fans, keeping the fans safe, especially if there's lightning in the area, then we have to evacuate."
Organizers say to download the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam app to keep up to date on all notifications and potential weather delays.
Headliner Eric Church is scheduled to kick off around 10 p.m. Saturday.
