Pick your own grapes in Jackson County

SNEADS, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Susan Paul has a knack for grapes. That's why she started a vineyard more than a decade ago.

"We have roughly three and a half acres under vine," Susan said.

Nestled in the heart of Sneads, Fox Hollow Vineyard is home to five varieties of muscadines.

"We have two that are primarily for wine and jelly, but they taste good so you can eat them too," Susan said.

Fox Hollow has been a U-pick vineyard for about 10 years.

"It amazes me how many people come all the way to Sneads, Florida for a day trip," Susan said.

The season runs from the beginning of August to Labor Day.

"By then things have really started to wind down and I've really started to wind down with the grapes," Susan said.

Running a vineyard can be time-consuming, but there's a reason behind Susan's passion.

"It's definitely a people business because you deal with so many wonderful folks who come out," Susan said.

Several types of jellies are also sold at the vineyard.

Fox Hollow Vineyard is open seven days a week on Renegade Pass in Sneads.

Monday through Thursday the vineyard is open 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST.

The vineyard is open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST Friday through Sunday.
