Planet fitness staff, Mayor Richard Musgrave, city officials, and locals held a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Planet Fitness also partnered up with the Boys and Girls Club to hold a nationwide "teen challenge" this year. The initiative allows teens from 15 to 18 to work out free at Planet Fitness through September 1st.
Mayor Musgrave said it's a great way to help the area recover from Hurricane Michael.
"Every time one of them comes back, it energizes our population. They see progress they see that we actually are coming back from this terrible thing that everybody endured," said Musgrave.
Musgrave said Planet Fitness also plans to hold fundraisers for the local Boys and Girls Club. He also said they expect many other businesses to reopen in Parker soon.
