Springfield police: Man leads law enforcement on pursuit

SPRINGFIELD, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - According to Springfield police, a man led law enforcement on a pursuit throughout Springfield and Callaway Saturday.

Police said Springfield police officers attempted a traffic stop on a Chevy Tahoe in the 3400 block of East Business Highway 98.

They said the vehicle stopped, but then fled the traffic stop.

According to police, after the pursuit started, the driver, identified as Isaac McMillan, 35, attempted to strike the patrol cars with his vehicle.

The Bay County Sheriff's Office reportedly began attempting to deploy tire deflation devices to end the pursuit.

After having his tires flattened, police said McMillan stopped and fled on foot.

We're told officers from Springfield Police Department, Bay County Sheriff's Office, and Parker Police Department set up a perimeter and a K-9 from Panama City Beach Police Department was deployed.

At about 4:30 a.m., police said McMillan called Springfield police to report his vehicle as stolen. He was positively identified as the driver from the pursuit.

Police said he was taken into custody and taken to the Bay County Jail where he awaits first appearance.

He is charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, and Driving While License Suspended (Habitual Traffic Offender).
