Ponce De Leon man facing multiple charges after high-speed chase
Holmes County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested Simeon Prevatt, 38, of Ponce De Leon on multiple charges after a high speed chase.
Deputies say on Wednesday, June 10, deputies were called to assist with a high-speed chase in progress by the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Prevatt was driving eastbound on Highway 90 toward Ponce De Leon at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
According to deputies, Prevatt led them north down Valee Road and on Tram Road before he wrecked the stolen vehicle he was driving.
Deputies say Prevatt then fled on foot into the woods but was quickly caught.
Deputies say they found a smoking pipe with a substance that tested positive for meth and stolen property on Prevatt.
Deputies say Prevatt also did not have a valid driver’s license.
Prevatt was arrested and charged with fleeing/eluding law enforcement (causing injury or damage), possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license suspended (third or subsequent offense), and criminal mischief in Holmes County.
Prevatt is facing additional charges in Walton County and in Georgia.
