JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A major change could soon be coming to Jackson County.
Jackson County and Marianna are working on a project known as "Project Blue Sky." (WJHG/WECP)
Marianna and Jackson County are in the process of developing a project under the code name Project Blue Sky.
If passed, the project will provide 58 jobs in the first year open and 200 jobs within five years.
It will be a manufacturing and distribution center in Jackson County located at the Endeavor site, the old site of the Dozier School for Boys.
"This is a really great opportunity for the county and city to partner, and it's coming along great, the partnership, especially post-Michael, this is a sort of a light in the darkness for something that has the potential to bring so much economic incentives and economic improvement to our area," said Jackson County Administrator Wilanne Daniels.
Daniels said if all goes as planned, the project will be completed in 2021.
As of right now, it is unknown when the official name of the project will be revealed.
