Project amendment for 13-year-old Panama City Beach development plans get approved

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A development approved 13 years ago had new life breathed into it Wednesday, but not without some opposition.

The meeting was well attended by area residents. (WJHG/WECP)

The development, spearheaded by Westfourth Partnership, was originally designed for 150 multi-family units. The proposed change would lower that number to 102 townhomes in 13 different structures, with added retail space. The development will be located on an 18-acre parcel near Kelly Street and Panama City Beach Parkway.

The measure was approved by the Panama City Beach city planning board, but more steps must be taken before construction can begin.
