BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Highway 390 expansion project is well underway, and with it comes a few new road closures.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation, 14th Street will be closed from Tennessee Avenue to Alabama Avenue as crews begin work on that section of the expansion project.
FDOT spokesperson Ian Satter says the section of road will be closed off for the rest of the year and it will be early 2020 before it reopens. They say despite the closures, all of 390 will remain open.
Satter said, "[On] 390, we’re going to keep two lanes of traffic open at all times, that’s the whole purpose. We want to make sure people can get to school, get to work, get to their jobs throughout the entire length of the project. We’re going to have two lanes open at all times. They may see some lane configurations change during that time but overall 390 is to remain open.”
For those who live in the area of 14th Street, you can use 13th Street, Kentucky Avenue, and Georgia Avenue as detours.
