For many students in Bay District Schools, this past year has been a difficult time because of Hurricane Michael.

Rosenwald High School staff want to help students through that difficult time, so they held a "Coming of Age in the Eye of Michael" photovoice exhibit Wednesday to help students heal by showcasing photos they took following the storm.

For Senior Jamiya Forward, part of her exhibit was a picture of her dad, who passed away from injuries suffered from Hurricane Michael. Jamiya says being able to tell her story through pictures made it an easier way to talk about a painful experience.

"It made me feel good because people can know - cause most people don't know what actually happened and stuff, so they can see, from the people that were actually in it, they can see their point of view," said Forward.

Many of the exhibits showed pictures of students damaged homes and neighborhoods.
