UPDATE: 3/4/20 9:25 PM

Wednesday evening Bay County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of shots fired on Davies Road in Fountain.

When deputies arrived they found an unidentified deceased female in the roadway with a gunshot wound.

Law enforcement believe a stand-off occurred in a nearby house. After securing the perimeter law enforcement was able to get a family out of the house.

A female with a gunshot wound was also found inside the home, but Sheriff Tommy Ford said the family did not know the woman who was eventually taken into custody and is alive.

Shortly after, deputies received a call about a structure fire on Suncrest Road about a half mile from the Davies Road home. SWAT was called to the fully engulfed structure where Ford said an unidentified body was later found.

The suspect is 41 year-old Jason Kenneth Jones. He is described as a white male, 6 feet tall with dark hair and is believed to be wearing camouflage pants without a shirt.

He fled on foot into a wooded area around Davies Drive off Highway 231 and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Jones is also believed to have a military background.

Bay County Sheriff's Office K-9 and Air Unit, Fish and Wildlife, Florida Highway Patrol, and Criminal Investigations are actively working the scene.

The injured female found in the first location on Davies Drive is believed to be Jones' girlfriend.

Deputies believe an altercation began at the Suncrest residence before Jones chased her on foot to the Davies road location.
