SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The founder of Dog-Harmony joined us in studio to tell us about their free classes that teach kids how to interact with dogs.
Dog-Harmony is a nonprofit animal welfare organization in Santa Rosa Beach and they are now taking reservations for their Safe Doggy Bite Prevention classes for children.
The free, 30-minute classes by certified dog trainer Nancy Brown, teaches kids how to approach dogs, proper ways to pet and play with them, dog body language, how to react if a dog attacks and more. They also receive a coloring book titled “Play it Safe with Dogs.”
The classes are offered from September through April to schools, scout troops, and other organizations. More than 1,100 children have taken the class.
