Scheduled aerial insecticide spraying set for sundown at Tyndall AFB

BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Residents near Tyndall Air Force Base should not be alarmed if they see a low-flying aircraft in the area Tuesday.

The base has scheduled aerial spraying of insecticide to control mosquitoes and biting gnats for today, April 16, at sundown. The spraying will cover about 25,350 acres and will be accomplished by a low-flying C-130.

The spraying is done to prevent insect-borne diseases such as West Nile Virus.

In case of inclement weather, spraying will be rescheduled to tomorrow, or April 17.
