OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - A second person has been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting near Fort Walton Beach on August 31st.
Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Trevone Fitzgerald, 18, was arrested Wednesday night on a charge of being an accessory to attempted murder, as well as being an accessory to discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
Deputies say Fitzgerald was driving the car when Stephen Cordova, 27, shot a man outside of a home on Miller Street.
Witnesses say Cordova was an armed passenger in a black Nissan Altima that drove around Miller Street around 4:15 p.m. Cordova is accused of firing several rounds out the car, one of which hit a Fort Walton Beach man who was at a child's birthday party.
Deputies say the victim suffered a life-threatening injury and had to have surgery. Deputies on scene are credited with keeping the victim from bleeding to death. Several cars at the scene had bullet holes as well.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Stephen Cordova, 27, of Crestview in connection with a drive-by shooting near Fort Walton Beach.
Deputies say that when they went to his home to serve the warrant for
attempted murder, he refused to come out.
The OCSO Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiations Unit responded and Cordova finally exited the house Friday afternoon.
Deputies say Cordova is accused of shooting a man outside a home at in the Fort Walton Beach area August 31st.

Deputies say Cordova fired multiple rounds out of the car, one struck a 36 year old Fort Walton Beach man attending a child’s birthday party.
Deputies say the victim suffered a life-threatening wound to his leg which caused arterial damage and required lifesaving surgery.
The Okaloosa Sheriff's Office credits deputies on the scene with preventing the victim from bleeding to death.
Investigators developed Cordova as a suspect in the case and served felony warrants for attempted murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Deputies say the investigation is ongoing.
