JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - According to the Sneads Police Department, on the morning of July 27, Sergeant Brett Preston was responding to a call to back up a Jackson County deputy.
Sergeant Preston was responding to the Inwood community "in reference to a burglary in progress call," according to officials.
Sergeant Preston was operating his vehicle with lights and sirens activated, when he lost control of his vehicle in an attempt to maneuver around another vehicle, causing him to exit the roadway, according to investigators.
"Sergeant Preston received minor injuries from the accident and was transported to Jackson Hospital where he was treated and released," according to the press release sent out by Sneads Police Department.
The Sneads Police Department said they would like to thank Jackson County Fire Rescue, Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Sneads volunteers for quickly responding to Sergeant Preston. They ask that you keep him in your thoughts as he recovers.
