Sheriff's officials: Bluewater Bay area man charged in son's murder

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, a Bluewater Bay area man has been charged in the murder of his son.

Frederick Franken, 61, is reportedly charged with domestic violence-related murder in connection with the stabbing death of his three-year-old son.

Officials said he was arrested at the hospital where he is still undergoing treatment for self-inflicted stab wounds.

Investigators said Franken and his son were found on the floor of their home by the child's mother.

They said the boy had been stabbed multiple times and Franken had multiple self-inflicted knife wounds.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's officials said investigators attempted to interview Franken, but he invoked his right to an attorney.
