LYNN HAVEN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The city of Lynn Haven organized a hurricane relief trust fund for its residents and thanks to several donations they raised enough money to give 75 Lynn Haven residents $1,000 each.

Commissioners approved the payouts at Tuesday's commission meeting.

Mayor Margo Anderson said, "I think it's a huge thing, out of 8,000 homes, that were able to help 75 homes in the beginning. I'm hoping that once this is publicized more on a national venue then we'll be able to help the homes in the surrounding areas."

City leaders will continue to accept applications and pay out money as more donations come in.
